NORAVE Freshers Party / Mix

Well, there's been a bit of a change of plan to our proposed Art School NORAVE residency. The Arty now want us do it on a weekend night on a monthly basis. These details are being finalised as I write.

We will still be holding the Freshers Party in the Vic Bar on Wednesday September 15th, as previously advertised, with special guests (and Shallow Rave favourites) Ben Butler & Mouse Pad (live), Blood Of The Bull (live), Dam Mantle (dj set) and Team Little Rock djs. Doors open at 9pm and close at 2am, and entry is £3 or FREE if you are a student at the GSA. Huzzah!

We've just put up a facebook event page for the Freshers party - if you wanna come leave us a message: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=144508418919002#!/event.php?eid=144508418919002

There will be free CDs for the first 50 folk in the door (as usual at Little Rock gigs) and I have put together a special promo mix for the night too, called "Bring The Noise". This is pretty different to what I normally DJ, with 10 tunes in 20 minutes, and showcases my more eclectic/noisy leanings. There's some metal in here btw - but you can still dance to it:

Bring The Noise Mix NORAVE PROMO by theniallist

Dizzee Rascal - Pussyole (Old School)
Sleigh Bells v Busta Rhymes - Tell Em Busta (Flowmack)

Tiga - What You Need

Countdown to FUCKNO: Part 8, Dr. Nojoke ft Kid Ritalin

Dr. Nojoke Ft. Kid Ritalin - Sublimacy

Dr. nojoke's been given a fair bit of schpiel on this blog before (here, here and here), and Kid Ritalin is of course a major part of Team Little Rock. Sublimacy was born of a shared fascination with minimalism, experimental music, post-modernism and apocalyptic concepts - a dark construction of growling bass, metallic clanks and sparce rimshots backing scattershot flows. Straddling dubstep, clickno, hip-hop and spoken word, it's a complex and twisted peice of art.
Dr nojoke is a godhead of the creative commons / netlabel scene, having released on bleepsequence, Leporelo, Tropic and more, as well as curating the Unoiki experimental platform. His live and DJ sets can be accessed through the links, though we highly recommend the Techno For Food live set from earlier this year.

Kid Ritalin appears on Black Lantern Music very soon and has two EPs due on Little Rock very shortly.

DFRNT - New Remix

I'm getting really into this guy's stuff. An Edinburgh-based producer who's debut album Metafiction dropped a couple of weeks back. Buy it here. We love his productions, and his dark, liquid style of tripped out electronic music, which might be deemed dubstep.
He's got plenty of freebies over at dfrt.com, and on his soundcloud. This one's a remix of Steve Foulds' Gentle Seduction. Nice.

Scuba and N-type are just some of the names backing him, and you can check an exclusive album preview over on our relaunch show on radiomagnetic.com. DFRNT for Little Rock, streaming.
