Alexander McQueen R.I.P.

After posting about him only a few weeks ago, yesterday we learned the sad news that Alexander McQueen had died. By his own hand no less. What a huge loss to the world of fashion, and to the world of art. And for those who don't think fashion could possibly be art, have a look at these shows below and then reconsider your definitions. A huge gaping hole is going to be left in the industry, and in popular culture in general. Mr McQueen, you will be greatly missed!

Alexander McQueen RTW 2010

We don't really do fashion on this blog, but then Alexander McQueen doesn't really do fashion either, as much as high-concept modern art. His 2010 ready to wear "Atlantis" collection is mind blowing, using crustacean-themed prints that match the massive Nick Knight projected backdrop.
