You can read my rant about the MIA "controversy" and the incident's rather patronising and sexist coverage in Douchefork over at Dangerous Minds.

As other writers have pointed out in the past, Pitchfork has a legacy of sexism to its tarnished name, which explains the hyperbolic over-reaction to a common hand gesture in this news piece. Had this been done by a man it would surely be lauded as “punk,” yet when MIA flips the bird during a televised game where grown men BEAT THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF EACH OTHER, she’s an asshole who hates every single person watching her at that very moment. Living and dead. I mean seriously, how is anyone watching American Football going to cope with the mental scars that seeing a raised middle finger can bring?!?

Seriously though, fuck Jeremy Kyle - he may indeed be the most lovliest person in the world with sunbeams and candy-coloured rainbows shining form his rosy arse, but his brand of TV is repulsive. At least Ricki Lake has SOME SYMPATHY for her guests. Not Kyle, he just rips the piss out of them mercilessly.

Also, I have it on good authority that he has an OCD where he has to lick everything he touches.

Woman Kills Rapper With One Punch

There’s a metaphor in here somewhere. From The Daily Mail:

A 22-year-old woman allegedly killed an aspiring rap singer with a single punch for a $5 party bet.
Tiffany Startz is accused of killing John ‘Fatboy’ Powell with a single blow to the face and has been told she has to stand trial.
The 25-year-old had agreed to be hit in the face by Starr in return for $5.

This is the best review of a bad film since Sex And The City 2. I'll prb still go see it though.
